What You MUST Know
Before You Trust Any Review Site...
Many consumers are turning to review sites for vital information about which offers are "right for them" or the “best.” With so many "Product Review" website's
on the internet, it is inevitable that some review sites are scams designed and marketed by companies to sell their internet offers or by individuals known as “affiliates” who are selling products for other companies.
WebReviews.org and PCDoctorReviews.com have teamed up to help put an end to scamming. Here are a few helpful hints to tell the difference between a true “review site” and a scam.
Professionalism – True review sites are very professional in nature. This includes aspects such as design, user input, trusted seal of approval, etc. They also provide in-depth reviews instead of sales pitches.
Blog or Review - If a review site is written like a blog entry, it probably is a scam. There are many places where consumers can blog about products, but a true review site is not one of them.
Limited Offerings – If the review site only provides information about a small number of sites (between 3–5), they are not providing enough information for the consumer, to make a qualified choice. It is likely that these sites are a scam. Most legitimate review sites will provide reviews on at least ten sites.
Links – One of the easiest ways to detect a scam review site is to look at the destination that appears in your status bar when you mouse-over a link. If the destination link directs you off either the reviewers site or the product site, you are being "redirected" by an affiliate or about to be scammed.
